Five years after her invitation to Super Bowl Forty-Seven in New Orleans, Sam Gordon has been awarded the NFL's inaugural "Game Changer" award. The award was presented to her during the annual NFL Honors program Saturday night in Minneapolis, MN.
Sam first exploded onto the football scene as a 9-year-old girl competing (and excelling!) in a youth boys football league in the state of Utah. She later went on to help laugh the Utah Girls Tackle Football League with her farther, Brent, which has led to leagues in Indiana, Georgia, and Canada, according to an NFL news release.
Safe to say Sam Gordon is deserving of this award, celebrating people who are committed to moving the game forward and have positively contributed to the sport and his or her community. Congrats, Sam!
